Painted raft for Kayce James of the amazingly creative Kenai Riverdogs showing the different types of salmon in the Kenai River.
If I'm not making art, I'm working with my hands.
Or hopefully doing both.
Prior to working as an illustrator and designer, I took a year-long welding program from AVTEC in Seward. My pipe welding certifications were the gateway for me to work building ships in Seward's Shipyard, fabricate custom metal orders in an Anchorage sheetmetal shop, and (currently) use ropes and harnesses to weld and inspect underneath bridges, docks, and offshore oil platforms across Alaska. (I sometimes describe rope access as a crew of rock climbers doing heavy construction in high places.) Prior to welding, I worked as a deckhand, carpenter, and backcountry ranger.
I love using my construction experience to fabricate art, and projects range from rafts to photo props to signs. I work primarily in wood and metal. Contact me at email@example.com for quotes and more information about projects.
